Ronald L. Moore went from an unheralded walk-on football player at Pittsburg State University to one of the best NCAA Division II players ever. Moore was the winner of the 1992 Harlon Hill Trophy, which is the Division II equivalent of the Heisman Trophy. As a senior for the Gorillas, Moore set school records with 2,585 yards rushing and 39 touchdowns. He returned the opening kickoff 99 yards for the touchdown in the Division II national championship game against Jacksonville (Ala.) State, the first time that had ever happened. Moore also ran for 1,576 yards as a junior in helping Pittsburg State to the Division II national title. He finished his college career with 5,776 yards rushing. Moore was named first-team Division II All-American in 1992 and was a two-time first-team All-MIAA selection for the Gorillas. He was selected to play in the 1992 Hula Bowl. Moore was selected by the Arizona Cardinals in the fourth round of the 1993 National Football League Draft. During his rookie season with the Cardinals, Moore rushed for 1,018 yards and nine touchdowns. A 5-foot-10, 220-pound running back, Moore played six seasons in the NFL with the Cardinals, New York Jets, St. Louis Rams and Miami Dolphins. Inducted into the NCAA Division II Football Hall of Fame in 2005. Born January 26, 1970 – Spencer, Oklahoma. Graduated Star Spencer H.S., 1989; College - Pittsburg State University.
