One of the all-time great athletes at Kansas State University, Ralph Melvin Graham was a three-year letterman in football, basketball and tennis and won All-Big-Six Conference Honors three straight years as a fullback on the Wildcat football team. He was the Big-Six Conference’s leading scorer in 1933 and 1934, finished his career as a Kansas State’s all-time leading scorer and was a starter in the 1934 East-West Shrine Game. After graduating in 1934, Graham spent eight years at the University of Indiana as a coach for football, basketball and tennis. He was the top assistant for Branch McCracken’s 1940 national championship basketball team. He later became the athletic director and head football coach at Wichita State University for three years (1942, 1946, 1947) before becoming the head football coach at Kansas State University from 1948 – 50. Graham was a three – sport letterman (football, basketball, tennis) for three years at El Dorado (Kansas) High School. Inducted into the K-State Sports Hall of Fame, 1991.
