The Kansas Sports Hall of Fame welcomes donations of any amount to support its efforts to preserve the history of sports for the state and to serve as a source of education and inspiration to all generations. The Hall is operated by Kansas Sports Hall of Fame, Inc., a not-for-profit Kansas corporation. Funding for operating expenses is provided in part by donations, sponsorships, admissions, gift shop sales, special events, and "Hall of Fame Games" hosted by participating colleges and universities. The Hall of Fame was founded in 1961 as a part of the Kansas Centennial Celebration and is governed by a Board of Trustees appointed by the Governor.
